New Non-Mandatory Mask Classes

Beginning on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020, 7:00 to 7:45 and 8:00 to 8:45, Odayaka Martial Arts will be offering two new class times where students will not be required to wear masks while practicing individual techniques. Individual techniques include, but are not limited to, warm-ups, running in-routines or kata and engaging in partner drills where social distancing is reasonably possible. The use of hand sanitizer or hand washing will be encouraged but we will not be requiring the use of gloves for any activity.

Students working close proximity partner techniques such as bogyu waza or sparring will be handled on individual bases.

For the time being, we will not be running drills that require random multiple partner changes.

Students and/or parents of students are asked to do self-check health screening including temperature and symptom reviews before attending class. If you or your child is not feeling well or exhibits any sign of illness, it is important that you stay home or keep your child home.

You do not need to pre-register. Just show up for class, as has been past practice. At this point, classes will be adult/youth mix, as the recent opening classes have been. Please arrive dressed for class.

This class is being offered because all students’ needs are not the same. Some people may choose more or less isolation, depending upon their lifestyles. However, as we have seen, situations change. Please understand that should laws change, the way we conduct classes may change, but at this point, we are endeavoring to respect personal choices as well as meet the needs of all of our students.

For more information, please see our class schedule. Hope to see you in class!
