Flashcard Instructions

There is a card deck for each kyu belt level from 1-tip through 1st brown belt.

Each deck includes the kihon waza (with pictures) and the questions for that particular belt test.

The purpose of these flashcards is to help learn the Japanese terms for the different techniques by visually associating the term with a photo of the technique. It is not meant to learn the techniques themselves – there is much more to them than can be captured in a single photograph.

Our belt test flashcards use Tinycards, a free app by the makers of Duolingo. You can use Tinycards in a web browser on your desktop or laptop, or on your Apple or Android smartphone or tablet. Click the links below for detailed instructions.
